The 2nd International Congress of the Association of Oral Diagnosis and Maxillofacial Radiology, which will be hosted by the Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology of Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGÜ) Faculty of Dentistry, between 13-15 April 2017. Scientific Meeting” started.
Speaking at the opening of the congress where up-to-date information in the field of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology will be shared, Congress President Prof. Dr. Tamer Lütfi Erdem stated that the desired level of postgraduate education has not yet been reached in our country, and that is why they are happy to come together in such congresses. Thanking everyone who took part in, supported and contributed to the organization of the congress, Prof. Dr. Tamer Lütfi Erdem wished a successful congress.
Cihat Arkan, President of Eskişehir Chamber of Dentists, stated that he was happy to attend such an event with a very specific subject, speakers and guests, and wished success to everyone who attended the congress.
Tepebaşı Mayor Ahmet Ataç, who is also a dentist, said that holding such a congress in Eskişehir honors them. Stating that he wanted to use the title of Dentist especially after he became the mayor, Ahmet Ataç stated that it is a very different feeling to be the mayor with the feeling of being a doctor.
ESOGÜ Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Dean of Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. İlhami Ünlüoğlu stated that they were happy to organize such an event in Eskişehir, where the Faculty of Dentistry was newly established, and said that they were proud to contribute to the congress. Giving brief information about the establishment and development process of ESOGU Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. İlhami Ünlüoğlu stated that their faculties will have their first graduates this year. prof. Dr. İlhami Ünlüoğlu thanked everyone who contributed to the congress.
ESOGU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Gonen said that the Faculty of Dentistry, which is one of the youngest faculties of the university, has made rapid progress by focusing on education, service, research and continuous improvement in national oral and dental health policies, with the effort to train dentists with universal and ethical values. Stating that the Faculty of Dentistry is among the leading faculties in its field, it also makes great efforts to catch up with the era in terms of educational programs and technological opportunities. Dr. Hasan Gönen stated that ESOGÜ Dental Hospital, which is still under construction, will be the largest dental hospital serving Eskişehir and its region with 220 dental units, 2 general practice rooms and 10 bed capacity, spread over an indoor area of approximately 20 thousand square meters. Stating that the faculty currently provides services to 100 thousand patients per year, Prof. Dr. Hasan Gonen said that when completed, ESOGU Dental Hospital will provide the highest quality service to more patients with its physical capacity and technological equipment. Stating that such scientific events are extremely beneficial in terms of gathering valuable scientists working in their fields, sharing their studies and evaluating the results of their studies, Prof. Dr. Hasan Gonen thanked all the participants of the congress, in which ESOGU Faculty of Dentistry faculty members took part in the organization, and wished the congress to be beneficial and productive. After the opening ceremony, the scientific program was started.
